TANDEM has been producing custom furniture for homes and apartments in Moldova and Romania for over two decades. Every project begins with a meeting — we understand the space, the rhythm of family life, preferred materials, the budget. From that conversation grows a concept that does not resemble anyone's catalogue. We use only certified European materials: solid oak, walnut and ash, high-density MDF, anti-fingerprint melamine, tempered glass, electrostatically painted metal. 3D design is included in the price and we do not start production until you approve every detail — from the shape of the handle to the finish of the hardware. Our team of 300 covers the whole chain: interior designers, process engineers, joiners, finishers, installers. We do not outsource anything critical. That is why we can guarantee firm deadlines and consistent quality year after year.

The process in five steps

Consultation

You visit our showroom or we come to you. We discuss the function of the space, preferred style, indicative budget and desired deadline. We laser-measure the walls, note the position of pipes, sockets, thresholds, windows. Initial recommendations appear already in the same session.

3D design

In 5–10 days you receive a photorealistic 3D project with renders from every angle, exact list of materials, wood species, veneer shades, handle models, type of LED lighting. We make as many revisions as needed — it is your time to see exactly what you will have.

Production

After approval and advance payment, the order enters our factory in Chișinău. Cutting is done on CNC machines with a tolerance of 0.1 mm. Finishes are applied in a laminar-flow booth, dust-free. Every piece passes quality control before being packed. Production takes on average 4–8 weeks, depending on complexity.

Delivery

We deliver with our own climate-controlled vans, with corner and edge protection. In Moldova — full coverage. In Romania — Bucharest, Cluj, Iași, Constanța, Timișoara and the other major cities. For other European destinations we arrange specialised insured transport.

Installation

The installation team arrives on the agreed day with all the tools and hardware. We work clean, with an industrial vacuum, no dust in the rest of the house. Installing a complete kitchen takes 1–3 days. At the end we check every mechanism, adjust doors and drawers, clean up and hand over the work on a signed report.

Materials we use

We work only with certified materials with full traceability. We choose together, depending on style, your budget and how you will use the furniture daily.

Solid wood

Oak, walnut, European ash, technologically dried to 8% moisture. Classic mortise-and-tenon joinery, built to last decades.

Veneered MDF

High-density MDF with hot-pressed natural veneer, matte lacquer or oil-wax finish. Solid wood look with superior dimensional stability.

Premium melamine

Egger, Kronospan, Pfleiderer boards — decors that perfectly imitate wood, stone, concrete. Scratch-resistant, anti-fingerprint, easy to maintain.

Glass and mirror

Tempered glass 6–10 mm: lacquered, sandblasted, smoked or reeded. Silvered mirrors with moisture protection. Perfect for walk-in closets and display cabinets.

Painted metal

Steel or aluminium frames and profiles, electrostatically painted in any RAL shade. Brushed brass, bronze, matte black — for contemporary accents.

Frequently asked questions

How long does custom furniture production take?

On average 4–8 weeks from project approval and advance payment, depending on complexity and materials. Add 5–10 days for 3D design and 1–3 days for installation. For larger projects — kitchen + walk-in closet + libraries — the term can reach 10 weeks.

What is the price for custom furniture?

The price is calculated individually, depending on linear meters, chosen materials, structural complexity and hardware. A standard 4-linear-metre kitchen starts from around 3,500 EUR; a premium kitchen with island and integrated columns can exceed 15,000 EUR. After the initial consultation you receive a precise offer, not an estimate.

How are delivery and installation organised?

We deliver with our own team, climate-controlled vehicles with edge protection. We set an exact day 48 hours in advance. Installation is carried out by our in-house specialised team with all tools and hardware on board. We clean up afterwards and hand over the work on a signed report. In Moldova and Romania delivery and installation are included; for other EU countries transport cost is separate.

Do you offer warranty on the furniture?

Yes. 5 years warranty on structure and joinery, 2 years on hardware (soft-close hinges, slides, push-open mechanisms). We use Blum, Hettich and Salice hardware — brands with manufacturer warranty. For any issue, our team responds within 72 hours in Moldova and Romania.

Can I change the project after approval?

Minor changes — a different veneer shade or a handle model — are possible within the first 7 days after approval at no extra cost. Once materials enter the cutting stage, any change implies costs for the pieces already produced. That is why we insist on a detailed 3D design stage — we prefer to spend time on the project than to regret it in production.
